Gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in a police encounter on Friday morning. According to sources, Vikas Dubey had attempted to flee after the vehicle in which he was present, overturned. Vikas was arrested on Thursday by Madhya Pradesh police from Mahakal temple. Later, he was handed over to UP STF. The UP STF brought him to Kanpur but one of the vehicles of UP police met with an accident. Vikas Dubey is the main accused of the Kanpur shootout case where eight policemen had lost their lives. The UP government had announced a bounty of Rs 5 lakhs on his head.

Vikas Dubey, the infamous history-sheeter in Uttar Pradesh, whose attempted arrest on Thursday night led to the death of 8 police personnel in Kanpur, has 60 cases in his name.
